MSI Hellas in association with Plymouth University is delighted to announce a series of continuing development courses aiming to provide knowledge and expertise to individuals who seek to improve their educational skills.

This course is designed to provide the Port Facility staff member with the security duties knowledge required to fulfil designated security duties in connection with the safe running and maintenance of Port Facilities and shipping. Those who successfully complete this course should be able to undertake the duties and responsibilities as personnel with designated security duties in connection with a PORT FACILITY SECURITY PLAN (PFSP) as directed by the PORT FACILITY SECURITY OFFICER (PFSO).

Students will develop their knowledge and skills from Plymouth University teaching staff with vast experience in ISPS implementation. 

Students will obtain a good honors certificate from Plymouth University recognized all over the world.

The course of “Port Facility Personnel with Designated Security Duties” will be held in the Yacht Club of Greece (NOE), Piraeus on March 30-31, 2017.

UK’s Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) PDSD course follows the ISPS Code and aims to provide the knowledge required for port facility personnel with designated security duties in connection with a Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) to perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of Safety Of Lives At Sea (SOLAS 74)  and the ISPS Code.

Some examples of the objectives of this course include: knowledge of current security threats – local and regional; recognition of and detection of weapons, explosives, dangerous substances, people and wildlife/animal smuggling,devices; crowd management and control techniques and operation of security equipment and systems.

 

 

This course is designed for any Port Security Personnel who will undertake the duties assigned under the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP).

The course also is directed at any Port Facility staff with a specific security role within national of international Ports.

  • Threat Identification, Recognition and Response.

  • Introduction to the Terrorist threat – Country Security and alertness states.

  • Bomb Threat and Actions on.

  • Port Facility Security Actions.

  • Maritime Cyber Threat.

  • Emergency Preparedness, Drills and Exercises.
